, and sure enough, I found this as well as others (I just googled my solution to see if anyone else had found this. So to verify: just disable the option "Enable Desktop Manager". Hey presto, no problems opening the Excel file! Looking at the Catalyst drivers, in Advanced View of the Catalyst Control Center, I found the Hydravision - Desktop Manager - "Enable Desktop Manager" tick box, and unticked it.

To truly test, I uninstalled the drivers (that came on CD with the graphics cards version 8.9) via AMD's own "uninstall absolutely everything AMD graphic-related" option, and sure enough, in Standard VGA mode I could open the Excel file with the add-in active.

Office ProPlus 2013 from Office 365 is what we use, now at version 5.1002. T he updated drivers for this card are VERY difficult to find, but suffice it to say that I found sp63823 to bring the drivers up to version 13.1 (30 Oct 2013). I am testing a HP Pro 3500 MT, Win 7 SP1 圆4 bang up to date with Windows and HP drivers, as well as the latest Office 365 download for Office Pro Plus 2013 with an additional HP AMD Radeon HD 7450 DP (1GB) PCIe x16 Crd B1R44AA for a dual-display setup. The file would be open, and clicking the restore button on the top right-hand corner of the windows would show all of the cells/data on the Excel worksheet. When this add-in was active, the problem arose where opening an Excel file, you'd see the ribbon and scroll bars, but no cells/data appeared, just a white background where the cells should be. We have an Excel add-in called "Jet Essentials" ( for our production environment that allows us to interrogate MS Dynamics NAV by using Excel. Just want to bring up an issue with HP/AMD drivers for the " HP AMD Radeon HD 7450 DP (1GB) PCIe x16 Crd B1R44AA", on a HP Pro 3500 MT PC.
